To reorganize public space, noWe questioned the place of the car in the town center and proposed traffic calming. The entire study area has been declared as " zone de Rencontre " so as to give pride of place to gentle routes and empower motorists. This took the form of specific developments such as the calibration of road widths at 4.75 m in both directions, the upgrading of soft circulation in the public space (height of view of the border of 2 cm on the entire study area), the widening of pedestrian circulation and the rationalization of parking facilities. This reorganization has greatly contributed to the restoration of security in the town center of Morteau and in particular at the level of the exit of the nursery school overlooking the Place de la Halle.
Establish a conviviality
The Mortuaciens were able to find the conditions of conviviality in particular thanks to the greening of public spaces, the empowerment of motorists and the resizing of sidewalks allowing the integration of terraces for shops located on the ground floor..
Use of noble and local materials
The project is part of a revaluation of public space with the use of noble and local materials. The wooden lighting masts were thus produced by the SIMONIN company located in the Morteau area. In addition, the cobblestone surfaces and curbs were made of Vosges granite.
